When facing hardship in life, sometimes all a person really needs is the unconditional love of a dog.

8 years ago, a man named John Huynh was in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was hit by a drunk driver and lost the use of his right leg.

He was in a very dark place, but then he adopted a loving puppy he named Sasuke (pronounced “sauce – k”).

That’s when everything changed; the young dog helped turn John’s life around. He wasn’t a trained therapy dog, either. Sasuke simply loved his owner– and that’s all his dad needed.

“I never, ever felt alone,” Huynh explained to 11Alive. “At the time, I was in my house, a broken man, and he doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t see any of that. He brought me back. It brought me back to my former self. He’s like my oldest son.”

Sasuke saved his dad’s life in the past…but now, John must try to save Sasuke’s. On March 23rd, the lab mix went missing after playing in the yard of the family home.

John let him out in the afternoon, as usual. But then, Sasuke’s owner had to leave the house; believing that the pup had already found his way back inside, John left the house without checking.

Three hours later, Sasuke was nowhere to be found.

Now, John is doing everything he can to find his missing fur-baby. He distributed flyers throughout the town, shared the story on social media (which now has over 10,000 shares on Facebook), and even formed a search party with strangers from the community.

To help encourage Sasuke to come back home, John placed pieces of his pup’s favorite blanket around the yard, hoping the scent would lure him back home.
