Man Runs Inside Zoo Enclosure When No One Saves Poor Chimpanzee From Drowning #animals #animallovers

When a new zoo was set up in Detroit Zoo, people were really excited to explore it. After all, what is there not to like about seeing amazing animals really up close? For one man though, a simple zoo visit turned out to be an unforgettable experience. When Rick Swope entered the zoo, he had no idea that it would turn out to be an exhilarating experience.

Rick was at the chimpanzee exhibit, when suddenly, he saw two male chimps fighting. In the struggle, one of them fell into the water surrounding the enclosure. Because chimps are more top-heavy, their body structure doesn’t allow them to swim. They immediately drown if left in the water for too long. That’s when Swope decided to jump right in.

Without thinking much about his own safety, the heroic man swam towards the drowning chimpanzee and took him ashore to safety. The other visitors were left in awe, perhaps by the rashness but bravery of his decision. Thankfully, the chimp was safe after the horrifying ordeal.
