14-year-old Carter and his family were devastated when their pug, Piper, went missing after he was let out to go to the bathroom.
Piper was a gift for Carter’s 12th birthday, so the two of them shared a very special bond. Carter feared he’d never see his furry best friend ever again, and moped around for weeks.
But what Carter didn’t know was that three weeks later, his mom received a call from a local shelter, saying that Piper had been found.
Instead of telling Carter that Piper had been found, she decided to set up a special surprise for him. When she picked Carter up, she brought Piper along with her and put a bow on him.
Carter began walking to the car and didn’t notice Piper at first, but the second he saw him, he burst into tears. He sat in the front seat, holding Piper and sobbing. He was so relieved and ecstatic to finally be reunited with his best friend.
