John Damian Androcles Aspinall is an English businessman. Also known all over the world as a famous conservationist, Aspinall raised a zoo-bred lowland gorilla named Kwibi for the first five years of Kwibi’s life. In 2005, Kwibi was released into the forests of Gabon (West Africa) where he belonged, as part of a conservation program to reintroduce gorillas into the wild.
The years went by and Aspinall didn’t see Kwibi for another five long years. Then one day, he decided he wanted to visit his old friend once again. So he went searching into the jungles for the gorilla. Kwibi would be 10 years old now and he would also be much bigger and a lot stronger. Therefore, Aspinall was a bit worried about how he would react when he would see him again. You are going to be shocked when you see the gorilla’s reaction though!
They travelled down the river for numerous hours, and they finally spotted Kwibi. The gorilla quickly recognized the man who raised him. Their interaction nearly made me cry!
