When a Great Dane stands on its hind legs, it becomes taller than most people. That’s why these gentle and magnificent canines are called the “Apollo of dogs”.
The average litter size of a Great Dane is 10 puppies, 13 is already considered large. However, the Great Dane you’re about to meet, however, recently defied all expectations.

After Cleo got pregnant, her owners noticed she was extremely tired. She also weighed about 143 pounds, which is about 43 pounds heavier than the average Great Dane.
Assuming she was pregnant with a larger-than-normal litter, her owners brought her to the Kingman Animal Hospital in Arizona for some extra assistance.
During her C-section, the veterinarian and her team were baffled by the seemingly never-ending number of puppies. “We lost count,” the company’s administrator said. “We used just as many hands as we could get.”

In the end, the 40-minute delivery required 11 staff members!
Though Cleo’s litter didn’t break the Guinness World Record (that achievement goes to a Neapolitan mastiff who delivered 24 puppies in 2004), she and all 19 of her puppies are said to be happy and healthy. Simply amazing.
