Michele, 52, has paid tribute to her beloved fur-baby, who became the oldest known cat in the world after reaching his 31st birthday. That’s almost 150 years old in cat years!

The elderly cat was healthy, with no known health problems. The gentle cat passed away from old age after becoming very frail on the 3rd of July, 2020.

Michele, from Exeter, said the moggy sadly died before turning 32. She said her beloved cat “went across the road,” and “never came back.”

Michele puts Rubble’s incredible lifespan down to the fact that she never had children, so she doted on him as if he were a child.
“He would have been 32 in May, so it was such an achievement. He was an amazing companion that I had the pleasure to live with for such a long time,” Michele said.

“I got him just before my 20th birthday when he was a kitten.”

Rubble managed to beat the oldest living cat record, previously held by a Siamese Texas named Scooter, who was 30 years old before he passed away in 2016.

The oldest known cat of all time is Creme Puff, who lived until 38 years old and 3 days.

“We never went down the route of Guinness Book of Records. I didn’t want to do that given his age. The record wasn’t of interest to us,” says Michelle.

“He grew old very quickly towards the end, I said to my husband at Christmas that I think it would be the last we spend with Rubble. He had started to stop eating and only drank water.”

“He became very thin. I went to work as usual and when I got home my husband said Rubble had gone over the road as he did every day and never came back, so we believe he went off to die as cats do.”

“He was a creature of habit, had his favorite places to sleep, and liked his food so when that stopped happening, we knew.”

Michele remembers the moment she first met Rubble on her 20th birthday, saying, “He was part of a litter cat that my sister’s friend had, and I had just left home.”

“I was lonely living on my own, so got him in as a kitten. It was in May 1988.”

“I have always treated him like a child – I don’t have any children and had another cat called Meg – who passed at the age of 25. If you care about something, no matter what it is, it does last.”

Once at the shelter, Gus was given a health screening that showed he was “Exceptional Healthy”— for a 20-year-old cat! — But they knew that having to spend his golden years in a shelter environment was going to take a toll on the [wellbeing] of a cat his age.

What a wonderful family she has, so many families would help with this!

Shortly after Gus’s arrival, the shelter director received an unexpected call from a family looking for a pet who could be a companion for their aging mother. More specifically, they asked if there was a senior cat they could adopt.

The family explained that their 101-year-old mother, Penny, had recently lost her cat, and though they’d given her a stuffed cat to cuddle with instead, she simply wasn’t pleased with something that didn’t purr.

So much mutual love in the photo of the elderly lady and her senior cat.

The staff was cautious because of the age of all parties, but the family said they were willing to care for the cat on behalf of their mother.
It was “A Match Made In Heaven” and the adoption was quickly finalized.

This duo was meant to be and Gus is already fitting right in at his new home. This sweet lady lived that long to find this baby and give her smothering love for the end of their lives. How selfless and beautiful they are.

The way life should be. Seniors often get lonely but have so much love to give still. A Pet helps so much. We’re so glad this lady got that senior cat, she truly loves him and he deserves to be loved.

God bless the lady that saved the cat from the shelter and gave her a good home with lots of love. May they be together for many years!!!!!!!

The adσrable deer σn the σther hand is cσnfused in the ρresence σf the kitty, it knσws at least she’s safe.

In the end, regardless hσw much Mirσ liked the cσmρany σf his new friend, his family decided tσ take the fawn and release it back in the fσrest, tσ be rejσined with its mσther. Alsσ shσrt, the interactiσn between the kitty and the baby deer ρrσνes, σnce again that friendshiρ knσws nσ bσundaries.

As she opened the door, she saw a cat in front of her, lying next to a baby in a box. She seemed to be warming a small child with her body until someone came to the rescue.

The woman immediately took him to the hospital, and the cat for a long time ran after the car, apparently, was confused about the baby.

Indeed, it is a heroic milestone worthy of praise. The cat saved the baby, realizing he was in trouble. Who would have thought there could be more humanity in a cat than in someone who threw a child in a box on the floor?

For nearly six months, this tiny puppy has been spotted wandering around the building he once lived in. His owners were too old and sick to even care for themselves, so they have been relocated to a senior care center. But sadly, they were not allowed to bring their dog with them, so they had to leave him behind. Nonetheless, the faithful dog waited for their return day and night.

The neighbors spotted the sad puppy and some of them even offered him something to eat, but the most touching scene was when one of the residents noticed a stray kitten approaching the lonely dog and offering her support. The caring kitten put her tiny paws around the poor puppy’s neck just like she was telling him “don’t worry, your loved ones will eventually find you!”

While the cat seems to be unfamiliar with humans, the puppy is very friendly. “They don’t leave here looking at something in the same place, but the strange thing is that every time people pass by, the dog tries to check everyone’s face, unlike the cat that runs away,” a resident explained.

When the neighbors noticed the dog and his new friend was still there, even six months after, they even built them a tiny house. But the duo prefers to sleep on the stairs and keep warm one to each other.

“They hug to keep warm when they sleep together at night,” one of the neighbors said. “Maybe they think they are in the same situation since they met on the street. They know they are different, but they get along well, they comfort each other.”

Even though everyone leaves them food and water, people are afraid they won’t make it during the fast approaching winter. So, they called a local rescue center, and the two have been eventually taken to a shelter. But not before a vet inspected them, to make sure they are healthy. The stray cat, named Nyang, and her puppy friend, Meong, will remain there until a forever home will be fine for both of them.

A few weeks ago, Chris Poole, who has been rescuing and caring for community cats in his area, noticed a new face in the neighborhood. A blue-eyed feline showed up one day to join the feast amongst other cats and came back a few days later.

The new cat on the block might have been wandering the streets for some time. “Apartment complexes usually get lots of stray cats at the dumpsters as well as cats that are left behind when people move out,” Chris told us.

Over the weeks, the kitty slowly warmed up to his food provider and became increasingly talkative as he lowered his guard. Once he realized his human friend meant good, he began to let Chris pet him.

“Then an even bigger breakthrough came when I introduced him to catnip and silver vine,” Chris shared. “He would roll around and let me pet his belly and generally have a good time.”

That’s when Chris knew the cat belongs in a good home and decided to find a rescue to help the deserving feline. Suncoast Animal League (in Palm Harbor, Florida) quickly stepped up. With help from some silver vine, the friendly stray went into a humane trap, and bid farewell to life on the streets.

After a couple of days, the cat adjusted to the indoor life and turned into quite the love bug who wanted nothing but attention. “His name (Sinatra) suits him well. He is very vocal all the time,” Larissa Condarcure of Suncoast Animal League told us.

Larissa knew just the perfect home for him. After having Sinatra for about a week, she reached out to Lori Griggs who was at the shelter with her daughter, Kiley, a few months ago.

“They explained the troubles that they have had finding a cat, and I was determined to get them the right cat.”

Kiley travels in a power wheelchair, and most cats are scared of it. After visiting multiple shelters with an eye out for the right cat, Sinatra made quite an entrance. The fearless feline walked up to Kiley and hopped onto her lap for snuggles.

The two instantly connected. Sinatra rubbed against Kiley and put the biggest smile on her face. He wasn’t the least bit concerned about the wheelchair and would sit comfortably on his human’s lap, purring away.

“He could care less about her driving around the house. Actually, he is like a speed bump and doesn’t even move out of the way,” Lori shared with us.

“When we opened his cat carrier in our daughter’s bed, he crawled right up onto her and snuggled.”

After months of searching and many shelter visits, Kiley finally found her perfect feline friend.

Sinatra is now a full-time lap cat. As soon as Kiley wakes up in the morning, he’s there ready to love and to be loved.

“It is like he has been a part of the family ever since he got here. He sits in her lap in the wheelchair as she does her schoolwork and snuggles her throughout the day.”

“I work from home and our daughter is homeschooled so he gets lots of attention all day long, every day,” Lori added.

“It is just cuteness overload here!”

The Pongo Fund, an Oregon charity that fights pet hunger, shared the story on June 4 via a Facebook post. You should read the whole thing. It’s quite touching.

Cats Penny and Lucy, both 12, had been with their owner for 10 years after she adopted them from The Pongo Fund. She certainly didn’t want to leave them, but a doctor had diagnosed her with cancer, the post read. There are things she needs to do in the next year or two—seeing family and friends—so Penny and Lucy needed a new home for their own good.

“Hard as it was, it was time to let them go,” the post reads. You should read the whole thing. It’s quite touching.

Finding a home for older cats isn’t easy, but The Pongo Fund had “one card to play”: a woman who, 10 years ago, had to give up her two cats after losing her house and marriage. She’d followed the organization since then, even offering to take in cats who needed a safe home.

Sure enough, (did you see this touching twist coming?) she was the one who’d surrendered Penny and Lucy the first time.

“We called her,” the Facebook post reads. “Told her we had a cat in need of a home. Two of them, actually. A bonded pair. We shared a bit more information. She didn’t have a clue. All at once she stopped talking and started sobbing. That’s when she knew.”

The two moms met and hugged a few days after that phone call, bonding over their love of the same pair of cats who loved to share a bed.

Ms. Jackson is a rescue dog who has a huge heart, especially for little foster kittens. She was adopted by a family that fosters kittens.

When they brought back a pair of homeless kittens from the shelter, her motherly instinct kicked right in and she started cleaning and caring for them as a mother would.

The kittens fell in love and began to nurse on their surrogate mom.

“She was letting them try to nurse this morning…it was too much,” said jeckhrdt via imgur.

Ms. Jackson’s new foster kittens are her babies now!

She’s very protective of them and always keeps them at her side.

And she is a very tolerant mama dog.

“I was given a second chance. These poor kitties deserve a second chance, too.”
