Opossums get a lot of unnecessary hate due to their “giant rodent” like appearance. These docile creatures are hated and called ugly, which is why they are not very popular as pets. However, a kind woman changed the perception of many haters when she adopted an elderly opossum named Hank.
Hank had been living in the woman’s neighbourhood for a few years. The woman would often feed him cat food, but he never stayed back. While Hank had no trouble getting by in his younger years, old age wasn’t very kind to him. One day, the woman noticed Hank in her garage. He wore the saddest face as he was unable to walk anymore.
The woman immediately decided to help the poor guy! The woman set up a cosy shelter for Hank in her garage. She loved him, fed him and kept him company. Slowly Hank was able to regain his strength and move around. But after receiving love from the caring woman, he refused to leave her side!
While Hank may have finally found his forever home, opossums still remain mostly misunderstood. Many are unaware that opossums actually benefit their surroundings. Research shows that they eat ticks which in turn prevents Lyme disease! Let’s spread the word and show some love for these cuties!
