Animal Control officers from Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about an extremely emaciated dog named Thor. Upon investigating, it was discovered that Thor had been unfed for months and was on the brink of collapse due to malnourishment, starvation and neglect.
At the vet’s, Thor’s was found to be extremely underweight. Officers tracked Thor’s owner to be Ronald Peacock, and gave him a 48-hour ultimatum to start feeding and caring for the dog. But Ronald openly refused to do so. He didn’t even offer to surrender his dog. Let’s spread the word and help the cops nab this worthless owner.
Update: In an encouraging development, Sheriff Wayne Ivey has updated that he “personally escorted” Ronald to jail after arresting him. “…if you harm an animal in Brevard County I am personally going to walk your butt into our jail and slam the door shut in your face!!” he stated on a social media post.
Ronald is now being held on a $2,500 bond. He has been charged with one count of resisting arrest and one count of animal cruelty. Sheriff Wayne further explained that starving a pet is an inexcusable act, especially when there are so many organizations that are ready to assist owners in caring for a pet. We applaud this officer for his stance!
