Some miscreants in Las Vegas are using superglue to paste little cowboy hats to the tiny heads of the city’s pigeons. Resident Robert Lee was the first one to spot the red-hatted pigeons. He posted a video of these pigeons looking for food.
While initially it was a cute sight to watch these “cowboy” pigeons, people soon realized that something sinister was at play here. The hats were not just glued to the pigeons’ heads, but were also blocking their vision.
Authorities are still investigating the potential motive behind this bizarre act of mischief. This could easily be someone’s idea of a cruel joke or a planned attempt at animal cruelty. Some people are also calling it an act of individuals under the influence of drugs.
“Lofty Hopes”, a rescue dedicated to pigeons, is worried that the hats will impact the pigeons’ flight and make them stand out to predators. The rescue is now tracking down the pigeons and working to remove their hats.
While there is no conclusive explanation yet, it is clear that the culprits were completely insensitive toward these pigeons.
