When people talk about training their pets, the first thought in most people’s mind is that the pet must be a dog. Dogs are most likely to pick up the activities being taught to them. But Ben Milliam believes otherwise.
Ben owns a cat named “Monkey”. And over a period of a few months, Ben has successfully taught his cat to search for her food, on her own!

The system that Ben has created for Money is also quite unique and ingenious. Ben created a vending machine of sorts- a machine that allows the cat to get her food if she puts in a plastic ball. This plastic ball has an RFID tag on it, a small ID system that allows the vending machine to identify if the ball is the correct one or not.

When the ball is inserted, it triggers the feeder present and cat food is subsequently poured into the bowl. And to make this more challenging, Ben has hidden many such plastic balls all around his house.

This story only goes to show that with the proper guidance and determination, even pets like cats can be trained!
