Mama Kangaroo Gets Killed In A Hit & Run, Baby Joey Clings On To Her Dead Body

    WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

Chloe Enright was driving her kids along a road in Dunsborough, Australia, when she spotted an injured kangaroo lying by the side of the road after a possible hit and run. Chloe stopped to check in on the creature, but the poor kangaroo had passed away by then.

Chloe initially resumed her journey after realizing that the kangaroo has passed away, but a nagging feeling prompted her to return and check again. Her instincts were right, as she went back and found a tiny joey tucked inside the dead kangaroo’s pouch!

The 3-month-old joey was very much alive, but her eyes were still closed. Chloe took her to a wildlife organization named “F.A.W.N.A.” for emergency care. As Chloe saw the helpless joey fighting for her life at the hospital, her motherly instincts kicked in and she volunteered to help raise the baby on her own!

The wildlife workers gave Chloe a care-kit and a heated pouch to keep the baby in. She brought the joey home and her kids named her “Angel”! Chloe will need to feed Angel 4 times a day and keep her warm till she’s old enough to be weaned. When Angel is old enough, F.A.W.N.A. will help Chloe in releasing her back into the wild. Let’s get the word out to stay alert while driving so animals don’t get hit.
