A tiny dog was crying at the door of his home wondering why it wouldn’t open. But little did he know, that door would never open again for him. It turned out his owners moved away and left him behind.
But their neighbour, Islas Aguillares, took notice of the dog and said, “My neighbour moved out this morning and left this poor dog behind its been crying and scratching the door, I cannot afford to keep it anybody willing to rehome.”
This Facebook post took on a life of its own and garnered a lot of attention.
A woman named Shirley Martindale-Horner was the first to arrive at the home, so she proceeded to take the dog to the groomer.
It was the dog’s first human contact since he was abandoned at the only place he ever called home.
Not long after the grooming session, a new photo was posted. Wow!
And thanks to the power of social media, little Aubrey received lots of love and made lots of friends — and most importantly, got a forever home!
Shirley promised Aubrey after his trip to the groomer that he’d never have to worry about a closed-door ever again. And she was able to make this promise in confidence because she was taking him home with her! ????
After such a sad abandonment, it’s so great to see little Aubrey in good hands!
