Fence Can’t Stop Little Neighbor Boy and Dog Who Want To Play Fetch

We’d ride bikes or toss water balloons around. Sometimes we’d even put on a show for all of our parents, or gather our old things for a neighbourhood kid yard sale.

Whatever happened to the good old days when you talked to your neighbour over the fence? What happened to Mr Feeny from Boy Meets World or Wilson from Home Improvement?

I still recall when neighbours would bring baked goods to welcome you to town. Does anyone do this anymore?

Yes, friendly neighbours may be hard to come by these days, depending on where you live. But one little boy from Minnesota hasn’t forgotten what it means to be neighbourly.

Chad Nelson, a photojournalist for KARE 11 in Minneapolis, posted a video on social media of his son playing in the yard.

Nelson wasn’t present for his son’s impromptu playdate, but when his wife sent the video their friend, Erin Richter, captured, Nelson couldn’t help but share.

Nelson loves baseball, so it’s no surprise his son would also love throwing a ball around when he plays.

Conway may only be 2 years old, but his young age hasn’t stopped him from making a new friend from beyond the fence.

Watch as little Conway giggles and runs toward the fence. What awaits on the other side will make you grin from ear to ear.

“A fence can’t stop my two-year-old from playing with his new best friend,” Nelson wrote on Twitter.

Aren’t the boy and the dog adorable? The video makes me wonder if this is Conway’s dog or someone else’s.

Nelson’s post doesn’t specify, but his tweet has since gone viral, with over 1 million likes and nearly 300K retweets.

The video is priceless. Conway may be expected to become a “baseball phenom” someday, but until then he’s obviously content playing fetch with his friend on the other side of the fence.
