Dwarf Horse Rejected By Mother Had Nowhere To Go, Gets Adopted By Dog & Thrives

Chanel the dwarf horse had many disabilities when she was born. When the mama horse rejected her, the breeder got worried about her survival. Chanel was eventually taken in by “The Peeps Foundation” that specializes in caring for dwarf creatures.

Chanel had very weak ligaments which made it difficult for her to stand or walk. During the initial days, she was bottle-fed every 2 hours just to ensure that she lives. Around this time, Huckleberry, foundation owner’s Labrador, became enamored with the miniature horse.

Huck literally adopted Chanel as he started caring for her 24/7. He would help her walk and carefully guide her through the farm. Gradually, Chanel got stronger and began navigating her way with a wobbly walk.

As Chanel grew older, she completely rejected the idea that she was a horse. She escaped the barn and sneaked into the house to be with her doggie siblings. She would smartly hide her tiny frame in a corner just to avoid going back to the barn!

It’s heartwarming to see Chanel copy Huck’s every move so adorably. She even demands to be petted from every human she meets. Her story of survival gives hope to every disabled animal out there. Let’s spread the word and help them have a fair chance at life!
