You’ve probably heard (and seen) that dogs and their owners begin to resemble each other over time. It’s a strange phenomenon — or perhaps dog owners end up adopting dogs that remind them of themselves. Sometimes, though, dogs end up having quite predictable doppelgangers.
Recently, a Twitter account noticed that a dog had a twin that was so familiar and famous, it absolutely shocked the entire Internet when she pointed it out.

Nevona was completely taken aback by the hilariously adorable resemblance, posing the question “Why does this dog look like Richard Gere?” when she tweeted the photo.
Both have quite the handsome face and unique eyes, but these long-lost twins aren’t the only dog-celebrity match to look like one another. In replies to the tweet, users pointed out that there are more animal-celebrity twins than you probably realize.
After all, this giant Maine Coon happens to look a lot like Ron Perlman…
And with the help of Photoshop, this boxer could be a stunning stand-in for Samuel L. Jackson…
And that this strange Pekinese mix could be mistaken for billionaire Richard Branson any day of the week!
One thing is certain: if casting directors began hiring the dog that looks just like Richard Gere, we couldn’t be happier! He would be the perfect lead role (and good boy).
