Zeus, a 9-year-old Pit Bull, was stolen from his home in Butte, Montana, around Halloween time. Owner Cassandra Rasmussen and her 2 young daughters were heartbroken after the theft and prayed day and night for Zeus’ safety. Their prayers worked, as Zeus was found with the dognapper 2000 miles away in Charleston, West Virginia!

Zeus was taken to Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association where a quick microchip check led rescuers to Cassandra. However, many airlines had banned Pit Bulls from flying and Cassandra wasn’t in a situation to drive to West Virginia too. It seemed like only a miracle would help the family reunite with their beloved dog.
That miracle happened in the form of 15 dog-loving volunteers who heard about Zeus’ plight! The volunteers were spread across the 9 states between Montana and West Virginia. They agreed to run a relay of cars for the 2000-mile journey through the bad weather, without expecting anything in return!

Throughout the 4-day journey, many animal lovers got invested in Zeus’ heartwarming Christmas road-trip. They anxiously followed all the live updates shared via social media or radio stations. Apart from Zeus pooping in a volunteer’s car, it was an otherwise smooth ride! It was a magical moment when Zeus finally reunited with his family! We thank all the selfless angels who helped Zeus get his happy ending!
