Two puppies were found abandoned in a box in the freezing cold at a snowy campground at Canyon de Chelly National Monument in northeastern Arizona.
A park ranger discovered the box at the campground and was shocked when she opened it to find the two puppies lying unresponsive in it and freezing to the touch.

She wrapped them in her jacket and rushed them to her station in hopes of saving them.
They placed the puppies, wrapped in her jacket, in a metal soup pot and put it on the stove top. They then turned on the oven, so a gentle source of heat could warm the pups.

Their idea worked, and the puppies eventually woke up and began crying.
The ranger then brought the puppies to a local rescue, who then contacted Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) in Phoenix for help.

The puppies have been at AAWL for the past four weeks, receiving medical care.
The rescue decided to name them Elsa and Anna from Disney’s “Frozen.” The now two-month-old pups are doing great and have been given a clean bill of health. They were recently spayed and are now available for adoption.
