Hope For Paws received a call about a homeless dog who could no longer be ignored. Rescuers set out and drove 2.5 hours one way to see the severely matted stray who hadn’t let a human touch her in over two years. And the neglect really showed in her looks.
It wouldn’t be easy capturing this girl using food since someone had been feeding her all these years. And even that person never got close enough to grab her. A few minutes of stress stuck in a net would be worth a second chance at life, and the entire community was happy to see Abby finally getting the help she needed.
It would take over an hour to shave off the more than one-pound of extra, matted fur. And then Abby would need to learn to trust and love again after more than two years of isolation on the streets. But she started to come around slowly. The sweet girl is currently being fostered by Smooch Pooch Rescue until she gets that loving forever home!
